Heitinga to Ajax a Done Deal?

John Heitinga is on his way out of Goodison in January and will be heading back home to Holland, if the latest County Road Whisper is to be believed.

Heitinga holds Ajax close to his heart and he has always stated his desire to return to the Amsterdam Arena, it now looks like this will happen in January, or next summer at the very latest.

Johnny has been at Everton since 2009 and won our Player of the Season last year, but he has been in and out of the team so far this campaign, with Sylvain Distin rivalling him for a centre back spot.

Our man in the know Barry Mayo has been hanging round the bookies of the L4 district and says he has it on good authority that the Dutchman will make the return to his homeland, leaving Everton short at the back.

With David Moyes reportedly chasing Vegard Forren, could he see the Norwegian defender as the possible replacement for Heitinga and Distin?

Good news. Poor defending against Bassong yesterday. Again. Same problems this and last season has cost us a vital points.

  2. Pablobrown says:

We need a change in defence, and Johnny has been poor this season.

If we can get our money back then it’s a no brainier. Forren plus a defensive midfielder and we are well covered. Hope this is a goer.

Bad idea if true, Everton already have a threadbare squad and even if Heitinga is replaced Everton need more numbers not less. And yes Johnny has been poor this season, but so has Distin yet he seems to be getting a new contract so what gives?
