Everton trio Leon Osman, Leighton Baines and Phil Jagielka have all been named in the England squad for next week’s friendly against Brazil.
England Manager Roy Hodgson has selected the Blues trio in his 24-man squad for the game at Wembley next week.
Leon Osman will be given the chance to earn his second international cap after finally being chosen for the Three Lions last November against Sweden, when the midfielder impressed even though England lost the game. Osman had to wait to the age of 31 to make his international bow and Hodgson has rewarded the Everton man with another call up.
Ossie’s team mates Baines and Jagielka, who have both been in impressive form for their club in recent months, are also included in the 24 to play Brazil on February 6th. Baines will be hoping to continue at left back for his country even though Chelsea defender Ashley Cole has also been called up, whilst Jagielka is expected to start alongside Gary Cahill.
The squad in full is:
Goalkeepers: Butland (Birmingham), Hart (Manchester City). Defenders: Baines (Everton), Cahill (Chelsea), Cole (Chelsea), Jagielka (Everton), Johnson (Liverpool), Lescott (Manchester City), Smalling (Manchester United), Walker (Tottenham). Midfielders: Carrick (Manchester United), Cleverley (Manchester United), Gerrard (Liverpool), Lampard (Chelsea), Lennon (Tottenham), Milner (Manchester City), Osman (Everton), Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal), Walcott (Arsenal), Wilshere (Arsenal). Forwards: Defoe (Tottenham), Rooney (Manchester United), Sturridge (Liverpool), Welbeck (Manchester United).

Excellent news and well done to Osman for earning another call-up, his inclusion in Hodgson’s squad last November wasn’t just a one off! Osman did play well during the game against Sweden, and we are sure he can teach those Brazilians a few things next week too!
